Joyce Kliewer - October 21, 2013

Joyce Kliewer, age 82, of Aurora, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Hamilton Manor.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Aurora. Pastor Barb Johnson will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Condolences may be emailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com. Joyce Lavon Kliewer, daughter of Earl and Bessie (Beat) Willcock, was born in Sutton on Dec. 13, 1930.
Joyce grew up in Stockham. She attended school in Hamilton and Clay counties.
Joyce was united in marriage to David J. Kliewer on April 28, 1950, in Stockham, Nebraska. Following their marriage they moved to Sydney, then moved to Hastings and then back to Stockham. In April 1963, they moved to Aurora. Dave died Nov. 21, 2012.
Joyce was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Aurora.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Dave Kliewer; grandson, Travis Kliewer; granddaughter, Sheila Howell; and sister, June.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her five children, Douglas (Kathryn) Kliewer of Aurora, Sheryl (Vern) Newman of York, Deryl (Deb) Kliewer of Hampton, Sandra (Richard) Barngrover of Aurora and Shirley Howell of Aurora; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Dwight (Elvera) Willcock of Stockham; daughter-in-law, Jean Kliewer of Kearney; sister-in-law, Agnes Kliewer of Aurora and many nieces and nephews.
