Lanny Andres - August 09, 2013Lanny Ross Andres, 74, of Atwater, Calif., went to live with his heavenly father and other family gone before him, on Aug. 9, 2013, at home in Atwater, Calif.
He was born in Alma on July 29, 1939, the third child born to Ross Clifford Andres and Edna Lenore (Baker) Andres. He grew up in Alma and graduated from Alma High School in 1957. He attended Hastings College and UNL before entering the USAF. He retired from the Air Force in 1980, with the rank of Major, when Castle Air Force Base near Atwater, Calif. closed. He then worked for Foster Farms as an accountant until his retirement 2001.
He was united in marriage to LouJane Gardner at Harlington, Texas. To this union two children were born: Lyle Mark Andres on Oct. 17, 1961, in Tacoma, Wash. and Lori Anne Andres born in Warner Robbins, Ga. on May 6, 1981.
Lanny and Michele (Mickey) Elain Leal (Ditto) were united in marriage. They made their home in Atwater and Merced, Calif.
Lanny was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Donald Guy, brother Raymond Andres, sister Patty Payne and two nephews, Kevin Andres and Robin Andres and one great-nephew, Stuart Andres.
He is survived by his wife, Mickey; his two children, Lyle Andres and children Andrew and Mark; his daughter, Lori (Robert) Santistevan and her children Raymond Santistevan, Nicole (Patrick) Popejoy and their daughter (unborn) Olivia Jean and Gracie Santistevan; his step-children, Stacey Leal and her son Joey; Joseph (Craig) Leal and his wife Norie and their daughter Nora and (unborn) daughter Emma Elain; his sister Karry Anne (Andres) Smith and her husband Ken from rural Giltner and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews and many friends.
