John Ediger - August 10, 2013John Ediger, 78, of Aurora, died Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, August 15, at the Evangelical Free Church in Aurora. Rev. Vance Christie will officiate. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the Mennonite Brethren Cemetery, north of Henderson. All are welcome. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.

John L. Ediger, son of John and Elizabeth (Quiring) Ediger, was born in Hampton on Sept. 16, 1934.
He grew up in Hampton and graduated from Hampton High School.
On June 28, 1957, he was united in marriage to Joan Epp. John worked for a well drilling company for several years, and in 1958, John began his 30-year farming career. In 1989, they moved to Aurora, where John worked for Randy & Jerry at RJE Electronics until 1992. He did some trucking for five more years. John retired in 1997, but still worked part-time on the farm.
John was baptized at Covenant Cedars Camp on July 18, 1948. John was a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church in Henderson, where he served as church treasurer, Sunday school teacher, Men’s Fellowship Committee, Christian Education Committee and as a church usher. In later years he regularly attended the Aurora Evangelical Free Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ed and Ben Ediger and two sisters, Lillian Winter and MaryAnn Regier
Survivors include his wife, Joan of Aurora; three sons, Randy (Jan) Ediger of Hampton, Jerry (Amy) Ediger of Comer, Ga. and Mike (Tollie) Ediger of Athens, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Craig Ediger, Jim (Nicole) Ediger, Kyle Ediger, Ben Ediger and Maggie Ediger. He is also survived by two brothers, Larry (Joyce) Ediger and Donald “Jim” (Lois) Ediger and a sister, Janice (Bob) Simonson and brother-in-law, Bob (Phyllis) Epp and sister-in-law Ruth (Dale) Fast and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
