Lyle Troester - July 28, 2013

Lyle Troester, 89, died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Wayne Oblender will officiate. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery south of Hampton. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.. at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
Lyle Fredrick Troester, son of Herman and Helen (Salchow) Troester, was born south of Hampton on March 8, 1924.
He grew up south of Hampton and attended country schools through the 8th grade.
Lyle lived in the Hampton area his entire life where he worked as a third generation farmer on the homestead with his twin brother Leland. For the past two years he has resided at the Hamilton Manor where he enjoyed playing bingo and other activities with the residents.
Lyle was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aurora where he was a faithful member. He served as head usher for 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leonard and Leland and sister Ardith Kokes.
Survivors include three nephews, two nieces, brother-in-law Ed Kokes and numerous family and friends.
