Phyllis Hultine - July 23, 2013

Phyllis E. Hultine, 88, of Aurora, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
Funeral services for Phyllis were held on Friday, July 26, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Sutton, with Pastor Judy Nuss officiating the service. Phyllis was cremated following the funeral service and a private family committal of ashes will take place at a later date.
Memorials are directed to the Zion Lutheran Church or to the family. Sutton Memorial Chapel was in care of the arrangements.
She was born to Arthur Cundall and Florence (Macdonald) Cundall on April 9, 1925, at the family farm near Sutton. She was one of 11 children born in the family.
Phyllis grew up in the Sutton area and graduated from Sutton High School. On Sept. 7, 1946, she was united in marriage to Russell Hultine, and three children were born to this marriage. Russell and Phyllis farmed their entire lives northeast of Clay Center. Phyllis was a housewife, raising a family and helping Russell when needed.
She was very active in her church, especially the WELCA. Over the years she made many quilts for Lutheran World Relief. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and playing cards and games. Russell died on July 6, 1994.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Russell; son-in-law Terry Richter; grandson Matthew Palmer; brothers Ray, Maurice, Grover, Glen, Jim; and sisters Janice Carlson, Jeanette Peterson and Inez Cundall.
She is survived by her children Tom and Cheryl Hultine of Harvard, Kathy and Gary Palmer of New Braunfels, Texas and Rita Richter of Aurora; grandchildren Patty (Shane) Schutte, Stacy (Troy) Schutte, Brenda Kemling, Kyle (Dana) Erickson, Travis (Janan) Palmer, Ryan (Karen) Palmer, Cody Palmer, Michelle (Steve) Austin, Marcy Trejo and Mandy Richter; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters Ethel Samuelson of Aurora and Wilma Liebsack of California.
