Jason Redman - June 23, 2013Jason G. Redman, 47, lifelong resident of Polk, died at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln of injuries sustained in an ATV accident on May 6 in Polk. After a valiant 48-day battle, Jason’s journey took him into the arms of his beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 23, 2013. Jason’s wishes were to be an organ donor. There was not a person he wouldn’t help. He was a loyal son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 27, at 10 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 415 South 18th Street in Aurora, with Rev. Chris Kester-Beyer officiating. The family requests casual attire for the celebration of life service and that all members of Jason’s Prayer Army, please wear your bracelets to the service. Bracelets will be available at the church, also. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Solt Funeral Home in Polk. A private interment will be held at Arborville Cemetery near Polk. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice or to the family for a memorial to be established in Jason’s honor. Jason Glen was born on Jan. 20, 1966, in Lincoln, the son of Ralph and Marsha (Lundy) Redman. Jason graduated from Polk High School in 1984. He worked at Atlantic Homes in Central City for 17 years, at Flexcon in Columbus for 12 years and was also an independent carpet layer.
Jason was baptized at Faith Lutheran Church in York in February of 1966, confirmed at and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Polk. Jason was a member of the National Rifle Association. Among his many loves were hunting, fishing, woodworking, and gardening; but his greatest enjoyment came from the time he spent with his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Ralph and Marsha of Polk; his brothers and sisters, Wendy and Bruce Hudson of Polk, Matthew Redman and fiancé Kristi Farley of Polk, Benjamin and Kathy Redman of Tully, N.Y., Mari Church of Hastings and Danielle Redman of Grand Island; nieces and nephews, Cameron and Holly Hudson of Aurora, Caryn and Troy Saulsbury of Kearney, Christa Hudson of Grand Island, Lindsay, Lauren and Carly Redman of Lincoln, Kyle Redman of Tully, NY. and Brett Church of Grand Island; special friend, Michelle Blatchford of Columbus; stepson, Jared Hollenbeck of Grand Island; and his best buddy, Ruger.
Jason was preceded in death by his sister, Shawni Redman; and his grandparents, Albert and Julia Redman and Glen and Grace Lundy.
