Maxine Zeliff - May 22, 2013

Maxine E. Zeliff, 92, of York, formerly of Bradshaw, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Lincoln.
Memorial services were Tuesday, May 28, at the United Methodist Church in Bradshaw with the Rev. Mary Scott officiating. Inurnment will be in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the church.
She was born August 3, 1920 at Nebraska City to Rudy and Florence (Schneider) Kreifels. Maxine was married to Clifford W. Zeliff Jr. on Nov. 4, 1944, at York. She worked in the ASC office in Aurora for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bradshaw and the Bradshaw VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed family activities, reading, gardening, knitting and playing the piano. She loved Nebraska, its writers, its sports teams, its ecology and natural beauty, and the life of farming communities. She was a staunch advocate of American small town values.
Maxine is survived by two sons, Clifford “Rip” W. Zeliff III and wife Kathy of Kerrville, Texas and Steven R. Zeliff and wife Sandra of Minden; one daughter, Barbara and husband Dan Schifeling of Buffalo, N.Y; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and cousins.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters-in-law.
