Bertha Friesen - May 12, 2013

Bertha A. Friesen, 92, of Henderson, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, in Lincoln.
Graveside services will be held at 9:45 a.m., Friday, May 17, at the Bethesda Cemetery in Henderson. Memorial services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethesda Mennonite Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Metz Mortuary in Henderson. The family will be present to greet friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday evening with family sharing at 8 p.m.
She was born Dec. 4, 1920 to Jacob A. and Aganetha (Epp) Wall.
Bertha and Willard H. Friesen were united in marriage on Oct. 29, 1941. They made their home on a farm in Henderson where they raised three children, Charlene, Twila and Orie. Bertha was a faithful member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church and had served as church secretary for many years.
Survivors include a son, Orie (Linda) Friesen of Henderson; daughters, Twila (Laurel) Preheim of Omaha and Charlene (John) Goertzen of Bradshaw; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Lena (Willis) Friesen of Henderson.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Martha (Leslie) Friesen.
Memorials may be directed to the Mennonite Central Committee or the Henderson Care Center.
