James Samples - May 02, 2013

James Samples, 65, formerly of Aurora, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Hearthstone in York.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, May 6, at the chapel of Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Rev. Jim Garfield will officiate. Inurnment will be at Aurora Cemetery.

James Harold Samples, son of James Walter and (Cooper) Samples, was born in Jonesboro, Ill. on Sept. 17, 1947.
Jim was married to Edna L. Norwood on Sept. 11, 1975 at Colton, Calif. He worked in Santa Ana and Fontana, California before moving to Nebraska. Jim worked as a fork lift driver at Swift Manufacturing for 18 years.
Jim loved doing crafts including painting, building models and making pot holders.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and son-in-law, Stephen Dorsey.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Samples of York; stepdaughter, Robertta Dorsey; stepson, Joseph Williams; daughter, Mary Samples all of Aurora; 12 grandchildren, Cynthia Weinrich of Aurora, Crystal Newman of York, Stephen Dorsey, Jr. of Papillion, Edna Motley of Columbus, Ashley Williams of Palm Springs, Calif., Jamie Williams of Grand Island, Joseph Williams of Grand Island, Patricia Samples of Aurora, Whitney Samples of Omaha, Jymmylee Samples of Aurora, Katerina Mason of Aurora and Emily Mason of Aurora and seven great-grandchildren, Christopher Weinrich of Aurora, Andie Motley of Columbus, Khloe Williams of Palm Springs, Calif., Jade Samples and Keyara Samples both of Aurora and Maverick Dorsey of Papillion and two future great-grandsons, James Samples and Kayle Williams.
