Pauline McConaughey, 97, of Aurora, died Monday, April 15, 2013, at Hamilton Manor in Aurora
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 19, at the Aurora United Methodist Church in Aurora. Pastor Mary Scott will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary.
Memorials may be made to the Aurora United Methodist Church in care of the Dorcas Circle. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
Pauline Margaret McConaughey, daughter of John P. and Margaret (Miller) Miller, was born in Stockham on Oct. 19, 1915.
She grew up on her parent’s farm near Stockham and attended rural school. She then attended Aurora High School.
On Dec. 8, 1935, she was united in marriage to Ora Vernon (Vern) McConaughey at Osceola. After their marriage she helped her husband on the farm. Pauline later worked as a retail store clerk. Vern died on Dec, 2, 2005.
Pauline was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church where she was involved with the Dorcas Circle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, James Plambeck; infant grandson, Gregory; five brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her four children, Verna Plambeck of Omaha, Thomas (Bette) McConaughey of Papillion, Kathryn (George) Cyboron of Boelus and Dianna McConaughey of Aurora; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
