Eunice Lauhead - March 07, 2013

Eunice Lauhead, 93, of Aurora died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 11, at the Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Rev. Jim Garfield will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary.

Eunice Esther Lauhead, daughter of Frank and Ismay L. (Adams) Heinen, was born in Warsaw, Ind. on Oct. 20, 1919.
Eunice moved with her family to Arapahoe as a young girl.
Eunice was united in marriage to Virgil Lauhead on Oct. 16, 1937, at Elwood. In 1940 they moved to Aurora where she was employed as a custodian for Aurora Public Schools. She and her husband also did other custodial work around Aurora. Virgil died on Aug. 30, 1993.
Eunice was a member of the First Christian Church where she served in several capacities. She was also a member of the ARC Chapter #2987.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brothers, Robert, Charles and Norbert Heinen; sisters, Frances ten Bensel and Florence ten Bensel.
Survivors include her son, Rev. Dr. Galen (Bev) Lauhead of Hastings; daughter Joyce Smith of Shelbyville, Ind.; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and other family members and friends.
