Irvin Riblett - December 24, 2012Irvin Riblett, age 86, of Central City, passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at his home.

Irvin W. Riblett, the son of Olin D. and Mae (Wright) Riblett, was born southeast of Shelby, Neb., on March 16, 1926 and passed away in Central City, Neb., on Dec. 24, 2012, at the age of 86.
Irvin was raised on a farm southeast of Shelby with his nine siblings, until he was 6 and the family moved to Washington for a year. They returned the following year to Stromsburg. When Irvin was 16, he went out on his own to work construction in Wyoming. In June of 1944, Irvin joined the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged in June 1946.
Irvin was married to Glenda Jorgensen on June 1, 1947. They had five children. Irvin worked on the farm and then went to work at the Marquette Elevator, and later for Aurora Co-op after it purchased the Marquette Elevator. Irvin worked for seven years at the G.I. Ordinance Plant, before returning to elevator work.
Irvin was married to Judy Ann Murray on Aug. 4, 1984 at Aurora. She passed away on Oct. 5, 2004.
Irvin enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing and spending time with grandkids and family and his dog, Scooter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, son, Marlin; daughter, Wynona Smith; step-daughter, Chris Straatmann and a grandchild.
Those left to cherish his memories are his three children, Richard Riblett of Central City, Marinel (Lonnie) Kopecky of Aurora and Tammy (Jimmy) Kimbrell of Dyersburg, Memphis, Tennessee; son-in-law, Kelly Smith of Memphis, Tennessee; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one great- great grandson; three step-children, Lisa Zegar of Minnesota, Carmen (Darren) Logue of Aurora and Kevin Christenson of Aurora; step sons-in-law, Bob Straatmann of Hastings and Mike Zegar of Aurora; 6 step-grandchildren, Jana, Brady, Victoria, Miriah, Ryllie and Cameron and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-laws and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
