Earl was the youngest and last surviving child of Laust Christian (Chris) Beyer and Marie Olsen Beyer. He was born Oct. 11, 1920, on the family farm in the Kronborg area of Hamilton County. Earl was a farmer raising livestock, row crop and hay as well as doing custom work (hay bailing, grain hauling and etc.) all his life until semi-retiring in the early 70s. At that time he and Evelyn, his wife, traveled with their small trailer and operated trailer parks for the Army Corps of Engineers in the American SE during spring/summer/fall months and wintered in Burbank, Calif. It was while spending a winter in California that Earl started his 12-year career with Lockheed Aircraft Corp./Lockheed Aerospace Co. as a maintenance carpenter. He retired in 1996 and continued living in Burbank until he and Evelyn moved in with their son, Curt, in Cathedral City (Palm Springs area) Calif., in 2009. He and Evelyn moved into the Atria Hacienda Assisted Living and Residential Care Facility in early 2011.
Evelyn passed away in June of 2011 and shortly thereafter Earl moved into Memory Care where he remained until passing.
He is survived by son Curtis (61) and husband, Kenneth Niemeyer; a second son, Scott (59), and his wife, Pam, and their sons, (grandsons) Drew and Michael. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn and a third son, Drew Alan, who died a few hours after birth in 1956. He also is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Donald (Ingaborg) Beyer in Aurora and many nieces and nephews and their families.
