Harold Bamesberger - November 01, 2012

Harold Bamesberger, 98, formerly of Hampton, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Memorial Community Care.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 5 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Pastor Jim Gruber will officiate. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.

Harold William Fredrick Bamesberger, son of Carl G. and Martha (Troester) Bamesberger, was born in Hamilton County on Aug. 10, 1914.
Harold was baptized Sept. 13, 1914, at Salem Lutheran Church in Hampton on and confirmed May 20, 1928, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Harold graduated from Hampton High School in 1932.
Harold was united in marriage to Florence Stettner on Nov. 22, 1942, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. They farmed southeast of Hampton until 1960. They moved into Hampton where Harold worked at Erickson Sales & Service as a mechanic until he retired. Florence passed away on May 22, 2000.
Harold was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. He loved to play cards.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; brother, Louis Bamesberger and sister, Violet Stettner.
Survivors include his two children, Barbara (James) Porter of Bullhead City, Ariz. and William ‘Bill’ (Frances) Bamesberger of Henderson; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
