She continued her education at the Grand Island Business School and received her associates degree in secretarial science. On Feb. 25, 1967, Donna was united in marriage to DeWitt “Dee” Graves. They made their home in Aurora and Donna worked at Chuck’s Drive-in, Jack and Jill, and Ellis Pharmacy. To this union were born three children and Donna lovingly became a stay-at-home mom. After her children were raised, Donna worked for many years at Harv’s Farm Supply in Giltner. In 1998, she moved to Grand Island and worked at Fonner Park. On Oct. 19, 2001, she and Larry E. Buoy were married and they lived in Bassett until 2005. At this time, they returned to live in Grand Island and then Giltner. Donna worked at Younkers until her health failed.
Donna was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora and was currently attending the Stockham Community Church. Donna’s greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family and especially with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed quilting, embroidery, photography, playing cards, traveling and spending time friends. Her cat, Patches, held a special place in their home and in Donna’s heart. Hugging people was second nature to Donna and she taught many people the value of hugging, including a couple old men and a doctor, who looked forward to every hug Donna gave them.
