Mildred Bengtson - August 14, 2012

Mildred Bengtson was called to her eternal home on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 20, at Grace Lutheran Church in Caldwell. Burial followed in Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell.
She was born Dec. 13, 1932, in Hordville to Art and Alice (Dose) Kohtz. She spent her childhood in the Hampton and Hordville areas with her elementary years at Immanuel Parochial School and graduated from Hordville High School.
Mildred married Jerrold Bengtson on Dec. 2, 1950, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Grand Island. After living in Central City, she and her family moved to Caldwell, Idaho, in 1956.
Mildred’s employment consisted of McCluskey’s Drive-in, Bible Science Association and the Canyon County Department of Motor Vehicles, from which she retired in 1989. Mildred’s church was important to her, and she enjoyed singing in the church choir for many years. She cherished the times she spent with her family and friends always putting their needs before her own.
Mildred enjoyed singing, bowling, camping, and spending those special times with her sisters. She had a special passion for butterflies.
Mildred is survived by her husband of 61 years; children Marian (Dwaine) Colson, Jan Bengtson, Marty (Kathy) Bengtson, and Joni Bengtson; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters Marjorie (Herman) Rhode of Missouri and Marie (Don) Madison of Nebraska.
