Della Vetter - July 16, 2012

Della Vetter, 85, of Aurora, died Monday, July 16, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, July 19, at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Dr. F. Cole Fowler will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary.

Della Mae Vetter, daughter of George and Lou Ella (Dodds) Druba, was born at Stockham on Oct. 31, 1926.
Della grew up and went to school in Stockham and Aurora. Della worked at the Air Base in Harvard. She also worked at her mother’s café in Aurora until she met her husband.
Della was united in marriage to Dale Vetter on Oct. 2, 1947. They lived their married life in Aurora. Dale passed away on Sept. 17, 2001.
Della served on the Bloodmobile and was cancer drive chairman from 1965-1975. She also worked at the voting polls for many years. Della was an avid golfer and bridge player. Her hobbies also included quilting, knitting, refinishing furniture, antiquing and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brother, Gerald Druba; sister, Mary Ellen Druba and daughter-in-law, Tracy Vetter.
Survivors include her three children, Kirk (Judy) Vetter of Gilbert, Ariz., Kathie (Karl) Melson of Aurora and Jerry Vetter of Firth; siz grandchildren, Jenifer Vetter of Phoenix, Ariz., K.C. (Angie) Vetter of Las Vegas, Nev., Jack (Nickie) Melson of Pacific Junction, Iowa, Kate (Dan) Horton of New Lenox, Ill., Candi (Russ) Smith of Walton and Kala Kontos of Lincoln; 11 great-grandchildren, Troy Adams, Lola Onate, Austin and Zach Vetter, Claire Horton, Josh, Jake and Corynn Smith, Caden, R.J. and Kobe Kontos; and several nieces and nephews.
