Ruth Cleaveland - April 18, 2012

Ruth E. Cleaveland, 74, of Colorado Springs, Colo., went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 18, 2012 after battling ALS Muscular Dystrophy.
Services were Tuesday, April 24, at Mountain View Wesleyan Church.
Ruth was born June 7, 1937 in Marquette.
She worked for the Pikes Peak Humane Society for many years. She later became a member of the board of directors, serving for 20 years. She was the co-owner of Town and Country Optical from 1973 to 2006. Ruth also was a member of the Soroptimist Club, as well as the Assistance League. She served the community as a volunteer in these organizations.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Earl Cleaveland; a daughter, Debbie Miller and a son, Terry (Annette) Cleaveland, both of Colorado Springs, Colo; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Leon (Sharon) Nelson of Marquette; two sisters, Arlene Erickson of Omaha and Ila Jean Knutson of Elkhorn.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Nelson and her mother, Lillie Nelson.
