Jean M. Schank - March 13, 2012

Jean M. Schank, 87, of Central City, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at the Long Term Care in Central City.
Graveside services will be Friday, March 16, at 11 a.m. at the Central City Cemetery with Rev. Paul Blanchard officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Solt Funeral Home in Central City. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.soltfh.com.
Jean was born on July 28, 1924, in York to Clinton D. and Maude N. (Mathes) Davis. The family lived in York until moving to Central City and Jean graduated from Central City High School in 1942. On May 23, 1942, Jean was united in marriage to Raymond J. Schank. They made their home near Archer, where they farmed. Jean worked at the Merrick County treasurer’s office for 25 years. After her retirement from the treasurer’s office, they continued to live on the farm. In the fall of 2008, they moved to Cottonwood Estates in Central City and in the fall of 2011, they went to live at Long Term Care in Central City.
Jean was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was an avid golfer, she collected Hummel figurines, enjoyed reading and traveling. Her greatest enjoyment came from the time she spent with her children and their families.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond of Central City; her son, Richard (Julia) Schank of Clarks and her daughter, Vicki (Steve) Wishart of Aurora; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by her son, Gary in 2010; her parents, Clinton and Madue Davis; two sisters, Alice Davis and Mable Fairchild; and one brother, Jack Warren.
