Bill Gerlach - March 12, 2012

Bill Gerlach, 57, of Aurora, died Monday, March 12, 2012.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 16, at the Aurora United Methodist Church with Dr. Cole Fowler officiating.

William E. Gerlach, son of Donald and Marva (Best) Gerlach, was born in Broken Bow on Feb. 9, 1955.
He grew up in Broken Bow, before the family moved to Aurora. Bill graduated from Aurora High School.
Bill was married to Debbie Richards and they had three children; Jeff, Sara and Danny. Bill worked as a first responder for many years in Hamilton County and surrounding areas. He also drove a truck and was a bus driver for Aurora 4R School District.
Bill was united in marriage to Rita Young in June of 2005.
Bill loved riding his Harley Davidson and attending auctions. He enjoyed doing yard work and loved his dogs, Harley and Joey, and cat, Sammy.
He was preceded in death by his father and son, Danny Gerlach
Survivors include his wife, Rita Gerlach of Aurora; daughter, Sara Gerlach of Aurora; son, Jeff Gerlach of Wood River; two step-sons, Michael Young of Grand Island and Tyler Young of Doniphan; grandchildren, Emma, Kobe, Will and Isac; mother, Marva Gerlach of Aurora; brother, David (Patsy) Gerlach of Grand Island; two sisters, Barbara Gerlach-Bice of Wahoo and Ann Gerlach-Lindauer and her husband Paul Lindauer of Boise, Idaho; and many other relatives and friends.
