Bill Alberts - February 10, 2012Bill Alberts, 74, of Aurora, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, resulting from a car accident.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Dr. F. Cole Fowler will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary.

William Clarence Alberts, son of Nels ‘Ole’ Oliver and Edith N. (Miller) Alberts, was born at Sutton on Sept. 15, 1937.
Bill grew up near Saronville and graduated from Aurora High School in 1956. Bill served two years in the U.S. Army during peace time. Upon returning from the service, Bill worked for Hamilton County as a gravel truck driver.
Bill married Linda King on September 3, 1960. They lived in Aurora, where Bill worked at Wortman Motors. In 1962, Bill began farming and the family moved to a farm south of Aurora. Bill retired from farming and went to work at A-1 Fiberglass in Aurora for six years.
Bill loved to watch sporting events. He watched the Chicago Cubs, boxing and Husker football on the television. Bill enjoyed attending his grandchildren activities and especially liked following his grandsons sporting events, and loved spending time with Lizzy, his granddaughter. He enjoyed his computer and keeping up with family members on Facebook.
He was preceded in death by his parents, ‘Ole’ and Edith Alberts; son, Will Alberts; brother, Gary Alberts.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Alberts of Aurora; three daughters, Sonia (Matt) Kiger of Yankton, S.D., Grace Alberts of Bellevue and Jennifer (Steve) Crawford of Crofton; daughter-in-law, Reka Alberts of York; five grandsons, Jared, Zachary and Joshua Crawford, Ethan and Samuel Kiger; granddaughter, Elizabeth Alberts; sister, Patty Jo Alberts of Overland Park, Kan.; nephew, Tony (Janice) Alberts of Cabool, Mo.; step-mother, Vivian Alberts of Aurora and several nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends.
