Dorothy Uehling - February 09, 2012Dorothy Uehling, 91, of Aurora, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at East Park Villa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 13, at the Pleasant View Bible Church. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Dorothy Alice Uehling, daughter of George and Margaret Helen (Carroll) Thaden, was born in Doniphan on Jan. 27, 1921.
Dorothy grew up in Grand Island and Blair, graduating from Blair High School.
Dorothy married Boyd Uehling on Sept. 1, 1940 at Blair. They lived in Tekamah for 22 years, where Boyd farmed. They moved to Doniphan in 1962 and Boyd continued to farm. In 1978, they moved to Aurora where Boyd worked at Bonnavilla for seven years before retiring. Boyd died Sept. 22, 2002.
Dorothy was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Survivors include her two sons, Kenneth D. Uehling of Tekamah and David L. Uehling of Hampton; two grandchildren, Melissa Elliot of Hot Springs, S.D. and Boyd LeRoy Uehling of Omaha; five great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
