Lowell Klute - February 04, 2012

Lowell Arthur Klute, 85 of York, died on Feb. 4, 2012, in York.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Faith Lutheran Church in York. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, York. Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, with family greeting friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. that evening at Metz Mortuary in York.
In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Lowell may be given to Faith Lutheran Church or to the charity of donor’s choice.
Lowell was born July 17, 1926, to Arthur and Lorraine (Miller) Klute in York County.
Survivors include his wife, Rose (Foreman) Klute of York; his daughter Carol (Klute) Gupta and his granddaughter, Maya Gupta, both of Carlisle, Mass.; his brothers, Don Klute of Hampton and Dennis Klute of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; his sister, Margaret (Klute) George of Orofino, Idaho.
Lowell graduated from Bradshaw High School in 1944. Early in his adult life he became a farmer. He farmed land in Bradshaw for 43 years. He retired from farming in 1987 and he and Rose moved their Bradshaw home to the East Sixth Street location where it stands today. Lowell and Rose were fond of traveling and they visited all 50 states and several European countries in the course of their travels. Lowell was licensed to fly small planes and he enjoyed 24 years of flying his Cessna for transportation and recreational purposes.
