Roger J. Chezem - January 28, 2012

Roger J. Chezem, 77, of Bolivar, Mo., departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 at his home in Bolivar.
Roger’s wishes were to have cremation. A private memorial ceremony will take place at a later date.

Roger was born on May 28, 1934 in Galesburg, Ill., the son of Alpha D. Chezem and Mary E. (Bedford) Chezem.
Roger served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He later worked as a salesman for Crest Industries. Roger was of the Catholic faith. He was a golfer by heart, taking every opportunity to step out on the course. Roger also enjoyed working with his hands, doing woodworking in his spare time.
On Oct. 16, 1963, Roger was united in marriage to Helen L. Tinker in Seward.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Alpha and Mary.
He is survived by his wife; Helen L. Chezem of the home; eight children, Douglas (Robin) Chezem of Flower Mound, Texas, Valerie (Michael)Thompson of Omaha, David (Ruby) Chezem of Omaha, Arthur (Tricia) Cayette of Charleston, S.C., Daniel (Denise) Chezem of Wisconsin, Debra (Keith) Terry of Highland, Kan., Denice Cayette and her significant other Griselda Perez of Lake Worth, Fla., Cheryl (Brad) Eaton of Woodberry, Minn.; two brothers; Richard (Grace) Chezem of Galesburg, Ill. and Ronald Chezem of Lake City, Fla; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever miss Roger.
