Don Carlson - April 29, 2009

Don Carlson, 55, of Aurora, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
Funeral services were Monday, May 4 in the chapel of Solt Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Nofer officiating. Burial was in the Hampton Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.soltfh.com.
Don Wayne Carlson was born Feb. 10, 1954 in Aurora to Glen L. and Evelyn L. (Reed) Carlson. He grew up in the Hordville area and graduated from Hordville High School in 1973.
On Sept. 15, 1973 he married Cheryl K. Wood in Lexington. He worked for farmers in western and central Nebraska, he was employed at Iams Pet Food and Loves Travel Stop in Aurora. He was forced to retire due to his failing health.
He had attended the Mamre Evangelical Free Church near Marquette. He enjoyed working with Chad on dirt track racing, fishing, hunting, and sports – especially Husker football.
Survivors include his wife Cheryl of Aurora; his children, Mike (Terri) Carlson of Aurora, Lauricea Plock of York and Chad Carlson of Aurora; his mother, Evelyn Carlson of Aurora; two brothers, Dale (Pat) Carlson of Central City and Larry (Karen) Carlson of Bassett; five grandchildren, Andrew, Coltan and Jonathan Plock and Ty and Alexis Carlson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Carlson, in 2001.
