Eleanora Johnson - January 22, 2012

Eleanora Johnson, 85, of Aurora, died Sunday, January 22, 2012, in Aurora.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at the Aurora Cemetery. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
Eleanora Grace Johnson, daughter of Joseph and Annie (Walden) Gorgen, was born in Clarks in 1926.
Eleanora graduated from Central City High School in 1944. She worked as a chief operator at Northwestern Bell.
Eleanora married Maynard Johnson on June 7, 1953 at Central City. She stayed at home and raised their three sons. Her true labor of love was doing things for her family and helping others in the community, using her talents of sewing and cooking. They lived in the Hordville and Hampton areas, before moving to Aurora.
Eleanora was a 50-plus year member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gilbert Gorgen.
Survivors include her husband Maynard of Aurora; three sons, Lyndon (Shelli) Johnson of Topeka, Kan., Lyle (Rosalinda) Johnson of Lincoln and Dale Johnson of Anaheim, Calif.; four grandchildren, Jacob, William, Dylan and Hannah; sister, Jeri Roshone of Valentine; sister-in-law, June Johnson and other family members and numerous friends in the community.
