Irene Hartnell - December 18, 2011

Former Aurora and Stockham resident Irene Hartnell, 98, of North Platte, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011 at Premier Estates.
She was born June 14, 1913 in Chester to Henry E. and Matilda Bostelmann Kuhlmann. She grew up at Scouts Rest Ranch and went to school in North Platte.
She married Garl “Jack” Hartnell in 1949 and they moved to Aurora and Stockham for 15 years. They moved back to North Platte around 1964 where they were in farming and ranching and raised registered Hereford cattle south of town.
Irene was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include one son, Bill (Paulette) Hartnell of Redmond, Ore.; three grandchidlren, Lance (Ky) Hartnell of Lebanon, Ore., Erin (Eric) Eldridge of Redmond, Ore. and Jeb (Kate) Hartnell of Tangent, Ore.; four great-grandchildren, Lane Hartnell, Abby Eldridge, Emma Eldridge and Cade Eldridge; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Kuhlman of Fremont and Jeanette Kuhlman of New York; many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; three sisters, Lillian (Robert) Cotton, Wilma Faye (Glen) Spafford and Marie (John) Knapp; seven brothers, Orville (Ella) Kuhlmann, Kenny (Irene) Kuhlmann, Hank (Gertrud) Kuhlmann, Rich Kuhlmann, Edwin (Frieda) Kuhlmann, Emmimt (Rose) Kuhlmann and (Spud) Willard Kuhlmann; a grandchild, Shawn Hartnell.
