Kenneth Hahn - April 15, 2009

Former Hampton resident Kenneth Hahn, 83, of Adams, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 18 at the United Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rev. Chris Kester Beyer officiated. Burial was in the Hampton Cemetery.

Kenneth Leo Hahn, son of Leo E. and Meta Emma Dora (Baack) Hahn, was born at Polk on May 16, 1925.
At a young age, his family moved to Hampton and he attended school in Hampton and graduated from Hampton High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
In 1949 he married Marilyn Joyce Wright and they had four children. He worked at Hampton Public Schools as a custodian for 27 years.
He was a member of the Hampton United Lutheran Church. He was an active member in the American Legion, V.F.W. and Hampton Fire Dept. He played baseball for Clarence Mitchell on the Aurora team and played basketball for the V.F.W. He was an avid sports fan of all kinds. He was a huge Husker fan. His family was very important to him. He loved fishing and camping with his children when they were growing up.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Hahn of Firth; three daughters, Ann Troester of Omaha, Cindy (Shawn) Sanne of Loveland, Colo. and Amy (Robert) Braden of Firth and Abigail; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Howard Hahn of Hampton and one sister, Ramona Hillman of Syracuse.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth Warren Hahn; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann and three brothers, Dwight, Marshall and Roger Hahn.
