Margaret Harris - July 27, 2011

Former Aurora resident Margaret Harris, 99, of Norfolk, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Faith Regional Medical Center in Norfolk.
A Celebration of Life was be held Friday, July 29, with visitation at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Burial was in the Aurora Cemetery. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Margaret Estella Nauenburg Harris was born April 29, 1912 to Daniel and Louise (Schultz) Nauenburg near Columbus. She grew up there in her young years, getting her education in the Columbus city schools as well as the Kramer High School.
On April 25, 1928 she married Pryce Carrico in Stanton. They made their home in Norfolk and a son Donald, was born to them on May 10, 1930. On Aug. 16, 1988 she married James A. Harris a businessman in Lexington and later they moved to Aurora. They enjoyed travelling extensively in the U.S. and attending community dances.
Margaret had been making her home at Bel-Air Nursing Home in Norfolk since 2008.
She is survived by her five step-daughters and husbands, Pat (Roland) Brauer of Norfolk, Rita (Don) Wegener of Lexington, Jeri (Udell) Podliska of Norfolk, Marcia Friesen of Lincoln and Louise (Bob) Bettenhausen of Lincoln; nephew Daniel (Maureen) Nauenburg of California; nieces; two grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her son Donald in 2002; her husband James in 2004, and her 10 brothers and sisters.
