Larry Hoffman - July 25, 2011

Larry Hoffman, 67, of Hampton, died Monday, July 25, 2011, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 28, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Rev. Mike Neidow and Rev. Tim McCall will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Immanuel Cemetery northwest of Polk. No Visitation. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
Larry Lee Hoffman, the son of Lawrence and Martha (Meerkatz) Hoffman, was born in Stromsburg on Nov. 27, 1943.
He grew up in the Polk area and attended school in Polk and Benedict.
On June 18, 1966, he married Bonnie Burhoop. Larry farmed with his father and worked for a hog operation. They lived in the Bradshaw and then Fairmont area.
Larry liked to camp and fish. He enjoyed gardening and playing cards with his friends. Larry liked to go to garage sales when his health would let him. He especially enjoyed playing with the grandkids. They were what kept him going. There wasn’t a day that went by he would say, “Wonder what the kids are doing today.” Sometimes he would even call just to hear their voices.
Survivors his wife, Bonnie of Hampton; son, Scott Hoffman of Hampton; daughter, Rhonda (Linus) Cloet of Sutton; three grandchildren, Sterling, Tyson and Angelina Cloet all of Sutton; mother-in-law, Edna Flowerday of York; uncle, Leonard Hoffman of Benedict and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, uncles and aunts.
