Former Aurora resident Kacey Renee Kingsley, 23 of Grand Island, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at her home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at the Evangelical Free Church in Grand Island. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. The Reverends Paul Canady and Sam Fox will be officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to CNCAA (Central Nebraska Council on Alcoholism and Addictions) or Crossroads of Hastings.
Kacey was born Aug. 11, 1987 to Michael Kingsley and JoLynn (Miller) Kingsley in Las Vegas, Nev. She grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 2005. She entered the United States Army in 2008 and was honorably discharged in 2011.
Kacey loved life. Her family and friends meant the world to her. She had a compassion for those who were struggling with life and in need of comfort and support. Her passions were, writing poetry, drawing, and being with family and friends. Her family and friends treasured her wonderful loving and kind giving spirit. She is dearly loved and will be truly missed.
Survivors include her father and step-mother, Michael and Michelle Kingsley of Aurora; mother, JoLynn Kingsley of Grand Island; brother, Jeffrey Kingsley of Hastings; step-sisters, Lauren Schuster and Shayla Schuster, both of Aurora; grandparents, Jerry and Jeanie Kingsley of Aurora and Isabelle “Belle” Miller of Grand Island, great-grandmother, Golda Follmer of Aurora; special friend, Jose Sixtos of South Carolina; many numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Mitchell Kingsley; and grandfather, Larry Miller.
