James Clayton - May 29, 2011

James “Jim” A. Clayton, 72, of Aurora, died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 3, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Pastor Bill Pavuk will officiate.
All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family.
Mr. Clayton was born April 1, 1939 at Schuyler, the son of Albert “Bert” and Alice (Horjsi) Clayton.
He was raised in the Schuyler, where he received his education. He also attended Wayne State College. Jim was also a veteran of the Army Reserves.
He was united in marriage to Corinne Korte on July 14, 1962 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus. The couple had moved to various places due to Jim’s work and made their home in Grand Island for 20 years. The couple later retired in Aurora. Jim was self-employed and owned and operated Clayton Financial with his wife.
Memberships include the St. Pauls Lutheran Church where he was an usher for many years, Crooked Creek Gun Club, and a long time member of Ducks Unlimited. Jim was also an avid outdoorsman, a trap shooter and artist.
Survivors include his wife, Corinne; son, Chad (Jill) Clayton of Grand Island; daughter, Sam (Bruce) Johnson of Lincoln; brother, Robert (Leona) Clayton of Arkadelfia, Ariz.; and four grandchildren, Zachary (Stesha) Schneider of Lincoln, Matthew Schneider of Chicago, John Mark Gits of Grand Island and Callie Anne Gits of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Victor.
