Norma Rae Hammons - May 18, 2011

Norma Rae Hammons, 76, of Greeley, Colo., died peacefully Wednesday, May 18, 2011, surrounded by family at Northern Colorado Medical Center Hospice Greeley.
Memorial services were. Sunday May 22, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Greeley with Rev. Timothy Bobbit officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are directed to the family for later designation.
Norma was born in Omaha on March 13, 1935, to Raymond and Dorothy (Hileman) Addleman. She was married to Rev. John Hammons for 54 years. They served Nebraska congregations in Broken Bow, Aurora and Elwood, also in LaJunta and Sterling, Colo. Norma was active in many church organizations. She also worked as a medical receptionist. Hobbies were quilting, gardening, reading, puzzling, bird watching and spending time with family.
Norma is survived by husband John and three daughters, Pam Hammons and Diane Kappas of Wexford Pa., Debbie (Darron) Berg of Greeley Colo. and Cathy (Steve) Burdge of Texhoma, Okla.; grandchildren Lynde and Josh Reed of Greeley, Colo.; Caitlin Berg of Greeley, Colo.; Alisha and Patrick Buesing of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Nicholas Encinias of Las Animas, Colo. Great-grandchildren are Zayden and Aurelia Reed of Greeley, Colo.; two sisters, Lois (Jim) Persinger of Syracuse and Judy (Don) Howell of Goodyear, Ariz.; a brother, Keith (Marge) Addleman of LaGrande, Ore. and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her, parents and grandparents Hazel and Al Hileman.
