Donald Dose - March 02, 2011

Donald Dose, 75, of Hampton, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at his home.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, March 7 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Polk. Pastor Kurt Letcher will officiate. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Donald Arthur Dose was born May 26, 1935 to Arthur and Sophie (Smith) Dose at the family farm in Hamilton County. He went to a rural country school, parochial school at Immanuel Lutheran until 8th grade, and attended Polk High School. Don entered the U.S. Army in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1956. Don returned home to farm and feed cattle in partnership with his father.
On Oct. 2, 1960 he was united in marriage to Joyce Moeller at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Grand Island.
Don was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a lifetime member serving the church in many capacities. He was a member of the Platt-Duetsche, served on the Hampton Coop Board for 12 years, a member of the Hamilton County Feeders Association, serving as an officer and a board director. Don was recognized in 1997 as the outstanding Hamilton County Feeder.
Don enjoyed attending cattle sales and remained active in the farming operation until his decline in health.
Survivors include his wife Joyce of Hampton; son, Dale (Julie) Dose of Hampton; daughter, Ruth (Craig) Quick of Hordville and four grandchildren, Justin (Christina) Dose, Danielle Dose, Jared Dose and Katrina Quick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law, Luella and Bill Brahmsteadt and son, Michael.
