Roy Juett - December 24, 2010

Roy Juett, age 86, of Ottawa, Kan., formerly of Aurora, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at Vintage Park.
A funeral service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30 at Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora, followed by a graveside services at 10 a.m. at the Aurora Cemetery. Dr. Carl R. Black will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary.
Roy Franklin Juett, the son of Burt and Pearl Cornelius (Chapman) Juett, was born in Giltner, Neb., on May 24, 1924. Roy grew up on the Juett homestead near Giltner. He graduated from Giltner High School and was involved in boxing during high school. He worked on the family farm.
Roy was married to Inez Mae Livingston on March 23, 1948 at Aurora. They had three children. Roy worked for Phillip 66 and the Silas Mason Company. He then went on to work for Desche-Payne Monument Company, Meyers Farm Equipment before working in Grand Island at the Ordinance Plant and the Grand Island School District. In the early 1980’s they moved to Gardener, Kan., where Roy worked at the airport. They lived in Wellsville, Kan., when Inez passed away on Nov. 28, 1992.
Roy was married to Marion Crawford and they lived in Garnett, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Inez; sister, Edna Link and brother, Lester Juett.
He is survived by his wife, Marion Juett of Ottawa, Kan.; son, Gary Juett of Wellsville, Kan.; two daughters, Linda (Mark) Van Horn of Chadron, Neb., and Karen (Dr. Carl R.) Black of LaMoure, N.D.; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Juett, Josh Dimmit, Tori Chappell , Jackie Chappell, Chad Van Horn, Trenton Van Horn, Rainy Black and Joby Black; two brothers, Aaron Juett of Edinburg, Texas and Glenn Juett of Bolivia and one sister, Irene Stertz of Commerce City, Colo. He also has 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-step-grandchildren.
