Lorraine Lee - December 08, 2010


Lorraine Mae Lee, 87, of Aurora died Wednesday Dec. 8, 2010 at Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Dec. 10, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora, with Pastor Karl Larson officiating. Burial of the cremains will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the Ord City Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Evangelical Covenant Church. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Lorraine was born Nov. 22, 1923 at Callaway, to Emil and Clara (Moeller) Walberg. She was raised on farms in the Minden and Elwood area along with her two sisters. She graduated from Elwood High School. Lorraine attended Business School in Hastings where she met Starling D. Lee who was in the service at that time. They were married June 30, 1945 at Smith Center, Kan. While Mr. Lee traveled for Ford, Lorraine raised their two children. They moved to Ord in 1959, where Starling ran the Ford Dealership and Lorraine did all the bookkeeping. When they retired in 1976, Lorraine continued to do bookkeeping for the Greenway Implement.
Lorraine was a member of the Ord Presbyterian Church and the Ord Elks Lodge. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing cards, camping and fishing with friends.
Survivors include a son, Terry Lee of Pierre, S. D.; a daughter-in-law, Suzanne Lee Rauert and her husband Glenn of Aurora; a sister, Verna Walberg of Aurora; two grandchildren Casey Lee and his wife Jessica (Kroger) and Darcie (Lee) and her husband Adrian Burde; a great granddaughter Alyssa.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, son Alan Lee and sister Eileen Walberg.
