Arlene Lindquist - December 03, 2010

Arlene Lindquist, 84, of Aurora, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Memorial Community Care.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 6 at the Higby-McQuiston Chapel. Rev. Mary Scott will officiate. Burial will be in the Richland Cemetery. Arlene Lindquist, daughter of Henry Andrew and Emmaline Elizabeth (Barber) Hayes, was born in Utica on March 11, 1926.
At the age of 5, Arlene and her twin sister, Darlene, were adopted in 1931 during hard economic time by Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lindquist. They moved to their farm southwest of Marquette. Arlene attended Country School District 56 at Shady Nook. Arlene moved to Marquette in 1961, where she worked at the two cafes in town. In 1980, Arlene moved to Aurora where she worked at a café in Aurora, before working in the kitchen at the Hamilton Manor for 21-½ years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Harold, Robert and Virgil Hayes and William Sonder and sister, Genevieve McCulley.
Survivors include her twin sister, Darlene Lindquist of Aurora; three sisters, Janet Morrison of Santa Clara, Calif., Mary Tilley of Carson City, Nev.and Dorothy Smith of Lincoln and three brothers, Robert Sonder of Grand Island, Henry Hayes of Blaine, Wash. and Leland Hayes of Paradise, Calif. and many nieces and nephews.
