Jordan Schaffert - November 27, 2010Jordan Schaffert, age 20, of Aurora, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at York, from injuries he received in a motor vehicle accident.
A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, Dec. 2 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora. Pastor Sheryl Kester Beyer will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Aurora Cemetery. Jordan Lee Schaffert, son of Eric and Rebecca (Vettel) Schaffert, was born in Grand Island on Sept. 13, 1990
He grew up in Aurora and Hickman and attended both Aurora and Norris High School. Following his schooling he returned to Aurora where he worked for his grandfather, Richard, on the family farm.
The pride and joy of his life was his daughter, Jayleigh Moormeier.
Jordan loved to work on cars and hunt. He enjoyed music of all spans, the outdoors, biking, skateboarding, paintball, video games, joking around and telling people, “It’s going to be okay.”
He was preceded in death by his father, Eric Schaffert, and maternal grandparents, Phyllis and Ray Vettel.
Survivors include his parents, Rebecca (Gary) Jones of Lincoln; daughter, Jayleigh Moormeier of Cortland; brothers and sisters, Vince Schaffert stationed in Kanoehe, Hawaii, Tara Jones of Lincoln, Lexi Schaffert of Aurora, Megan Jones of Hastings, Jacie Geiger of Lincoln and Logan Geiger of Aurora; grandparents, Richard and Stella Schaffert of Aurora and Jim and Deb Jones of Sutton; several aunts and uncles, cousins and many other extended family members and friends.
