Anna McIntosh - December 26, 2009

Anna McIntosh, 103, of Aurora died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at Memorial Community Care.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 29 at Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Revs. Karl Larson and Bill Stearns officiated. Burial was in the Mamre Cemetery.

Anna Louise McIntosh, daughter of Alfred and Amanda (Anderson) Sanderson, was born at Marquette on Dec. 21, 1906.
She grew up on the farm near Marquette. She completed grade school and then was needed at home to help raise her brothers and sisters.
On Feb. 11, 1930, she married Clifton ‘Benny’ McIntosh at the county courthouse in Aurora. They farmed all of their married life in the Marquette area. Her husband died on May 12, 2000.
She attended Mamre Church where she was involved in the Ladies Aide and Bible study group. She participated in a Bible study group even after moving to East Park Villa.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn (Al) Hoegh of Crossville, Tenn.; two grandsons, Douglas (Alicia) Hoegh of Broomfield, Colo. and David (Jean) Hoegh of Dade City, Fla.; two great-granddaughters; a brother, John Sanderson and three sisters, Algene Hopkins, Selma Thomsen and Dorothy Retzlaff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers, two sisters and a niece and nephew that were raised by her parents.
