Arleen Kruback - December 25, 2009

Arleen Kruback, 64, of Aurora, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30 at Higby-McQuiston Chapel. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.

Arleen Dorothy Kruback, daughter of Arthur and Dorothy (Dehmel) Zier, was born in Elizabeth, N. J. on Sept. 21, 1945.
She grew up in Elizabeth, N. J. and the family moved to Cranford, N. J. where she graduated from Cranford High School in 1963. She went on to school to become a LPN, later she received her associates degree from Middlesex College to become a registered nurse. She worked the night shift at Rahway Hospital in Rahway, N. J. for many years. In 1977, she moved to Toms River, N.J. to work at Community Memorial Hospital in the recovery room. In 1984 She moved to Golden, Colo. where she worked at Lutheran Medical Center, Denver General Hospital and Kaiser Permanente, from which she retired in 2006 to move to Aurora to be near her family. In Aurora she worked at Memorial Health Clinic and St. Francis Medical Center where she was one of the initial nurses on the newly built rehabilitation unit. She was a devoted nurse, who gave exceptional care to all of her patients.
She married Eugene Kruback on June 1, 1989 in Lakewood, Colo.
She loved to travel, go on cruises and go shopping. In her younger days she enjoyed dancing, skiing and bowling. Her greatest love was cooking. She always brought her wonderful creations to share with family, friends and co-workers. She also loved taking care of her three dogs, which she treated like her children.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Kruback of Aurora; daughter, Marlene (Greg) Markham of Aurora; granddaughter, Elizabeth Zier of Aurora; brother, Arthur Zier of Arkville, N.Y.; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
