Doris Lovgren - December 23, 2009

Doris M. (Stephens) Lovgren, 85, of Harvard, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009 at the Harvard Rest Haven at the age of 85.
She born April 2, 1924 in rural Clay County to James and Lydia (Pauley) Stephens. She graduated from Harvard High School in 1942. After graduation she taught in a rural country school and worked on aircraft engines at the Harvard Air Base.
She married Marvin W. Lovgren on Dec. 24, 1944 at the Methodist Church in Harvard. They were active members of the First United Methodist Church in Harvard. United Methodist Women, Church Choir, PEO, and bridge were all important parts of her life. Her hobbies included needlework, cooking and gardening, but her passion was her family and music, even singing on the radio for a short time.
She was preceded in death were her husband, Marvin; her parents, Jim and Lydia Stephens; and her sister, Joan Stephens.
Survivors include her three daughters, Connie (Larry) Lindquist of Milford, Sharon and (Jim) Tenopir of Lincoln, and Diane (Keith) Keller of Harvard; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
