Doris Samples - December 11, 2009

Doris Samples, 97, of Aurora, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15 at the First Christian Church. Pastor Sam Fox will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery.

Doris Alberta Samples, daughter of Ora and Grace (Scovill) Meese, was born in Hamilton County on June 29, 1912.
She grew up in Giltner and graduated from Giltner High School.
On Sept. 5, 1928, she married Bruce Kingston. To this union they had four children: Melva, Roger, Jimmy and Grace.
She worked for Hesteds, J. M. McDonald’s and several other businesses in Aurora. Her husband died on April 5, 1958.
She married Kee Samples on Dec. 20, 1959. He died on Nov. 4, 1999.
She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Kingston of Red Cloud; two daughters, Grace (James) Nordlund of Phillips and Melva Jean Haack of Bradshaw; two stepsons, Jim (Cheryl) Samples of Estero, Fla. and Ken (Carmen) Samples of Wake Forest, N.C.; 21 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son, Roger Kingston; grandson, Mike Kingston, two brothers and three sisters.
