Amy attended District 45 Country School and graduated from Aurora High School in 1932. She worked as a housekeeper and nanny in Aurora and Grand Island after graduation.
Amy was united in marriage to Harald N. Gustafson on March 27, 1941 at her parents’ home. They farmed in rural Hamilton County until 1969 when they moved to Aurora.
