Amy attended District 45 Country School and graduated from Aurora High School in 1932. She worked as a housekeeper and nanny in Aurora and Grand Island after graduation.
Amy was united in marriage to Harald N. Gustafson on March 27, 1941 at her parents’ home. They farmed in rural Hamilton County until 1969 when they moved to Aurora. In June 1998, they moved to Memorial Community Care. She felt at home there and appreciated the TLC given her. Harald passed away on Jan. 28, 2003.
Amy was a member of the Monroe Evangelical Free Church and later became a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church. She was a faithful and loving Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher. She enjoyed helping with 4-H projects and did sewing for many in the community. After moving to Aurora, she enjoyed the many flowers in her yard, especially the roses. She touched many lives with sharing her time, baked goods, and garden produce with others.
