Kathryn Ann Cudly, the daughter of Joseph T. and Eileen L. (Grady) Healy, was born in Columbus, on Jan. 3, 1946, and passed away in Grand Island, on May 20, 2014, at the age of 68.
Kathy grew up on a farm northeast of Schuyler. She attended Rural School Dist #9 through the 8th grade. Kathy graduated from Schuyler High School in 1964. She met Allen in high school. While living at home with her parents she helped out on the farm and helped her mother with her younger siblings, since Kathy was the oldest. Her 4-H experiences taught her many skills, especially sewing, cooking and baking, which came in handy when helping her mother. Kathy worked for Wagner Mills in Schuyler and The Wayne Herald in Wayne.
Kathy was united in marriage to Allen J. Cudly on May 6, 1967. Three children were born to this union: Terri, Steve and Brent. She worked as the office manager for Jamie J. Sasek, D.D.S., and at Cornerstone Bank as an operations clerk. While working, her primary focus was her family, first her children and later her grandchildren. Kathy always made time to get to their events: school programs, recitals, sporting events and parties. Nothing gave her greater happiness than spending time surrounded by her family, be it family reunions, vacations or holidays.
Kathy was a member of 4-H Clubs, FHA and CCD. She served as a 4-H Leader for 10 years. While in Ord, she was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Altar Society and taught CCD for 2 years. Kathy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. She was a CCD teacher for five years and a member of the Altar Society; she served as Vice President - 2 terms, President - 3 terms, Circle Chairman and various committees, including the Building Committee. Kathy was a member of Extension Clubs in Ord and Aurora, where she served as president, secretary and treasurer. She was also a GNO member.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Jessica Healy.

Cudly of Aurora; 3 children: Terri (Matt) Fangman of Littleton, Colo., Steve (Shelley) Cudly of Omaha and Brent (Briana) Cudly of Arlington; 8 grandchildren: Sydney and Elise Fangman, Hope, Luke, Mayme and Faith Cudly, and Liliana and Keithen Cudly; siblings: Thomas Healy, James (Pat) Healy, Patricia (Allan) Kassmeier, John (Judy) Healy and Robert (Sue) Healy; in-laws: Ken and Kathy Cudly, Glenn and Mary Cudly, Dean and Kris Cudly and many special nieces and nephews.
