Dr. Terrell S. Hadley - April 29, 2014Dr. Terrell (Terry) Shane Hadley, age 55, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014.
There will be a Memorial Mass at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 31 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Fr. Dennis Hunt will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. No Visitation. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora is in charge of arrangements. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Aurora High School Wrestling Program. Terrell Shane Hadley was born in Grand Island on June 29, 1958 to the late Dr. John and Glennamae Hadley. Terry graduated from Aurora High School in 1976 and received his Bachelor of Psychology and Chemistry from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1991. He then received his Doctorate of Medicine in Family Practice from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1996.
Terry started his medical career as a resident at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, West Virginia. In 1997, along with nine other doctors he published, Meeting the Challenges of Workload and Building a Practice: The Perspectives of 10 Rural Physicians, in January 1997 Rural Journal of Health. He went on to practice medicine for 15 years in various places including: Larned, Kans., Atwood, Kans. and Silver City, New Mexico. He was also a member of the Health Grade Honor Roll from 2000 until he retired.
Terry loved to fish, ski, go camping, play paintball, pool/billiards, Bible study, walking his dog Bambi, spending time with his kids and Husker football.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Sheri Hadley and grandson, John Hadley.
Terry is survived by his children, Miranda (Buba) Sisay of Atwood, Kans., Ryan (Justine) Hadley of Atwood, Kans., Elise (Josh) Sprague of Norton, Kans., Tia Hadley of Kearney and Shay Hadley of Oberlin, Kans. He is also survived by his siblings, Scott (Brenda) Hadley of Gibson, La, John (Claudia) Hadley of Pine Brook, NJ and Tracy (Marcia) Hadley of Las Cruces, NM; nieces, Shanna (Chris) Pollock and Nicole Hadley; grandchildren, Elliana Hadley, Gavin Sprague and Scarlett Davies.
