Theodor C. Priess - July 05, 2014Theodor C. Priess of Cedar Creek, former Hamilton County resident from 1947 to 1960, was born March 21, 1921 in Seward, the son of Benhard “Ben” and Caroline “Lena” (Brandt) Priess and passed away on May 7, 2014 at the age of 93 years, 1 month, 16 days.
Theodor was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church near Malcolm. He attended Seward County School District 52P. Theodor was drafted into the U.S. Army in August of 1944 and honorably discharged March 7, 1946. He served in Italy with the 86th Ord. and Foreign Liaison Division. Theodor was a member of American Legion Post No. 353 – Louisville and a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Louisville.
Theodor is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Donna and Morris Drake, Lincoln, Valera Otte, Seward, Norma Lee and Don Sronce, Lincoln, Carol Kratochvil, Ulysses; his sisters, Laura Daehling, Seward and Florence and her husband, Leonard Kraus, Crete; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and special friend and companion, Ann Fisher.
Theodor is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Lena Priess; wives, Norma Priess and Gertrude Priess; brothers, Oscar Priess, Adolph and wife Vera Priess, Ben, Jr. and wife Agnes Priess, Albert and wife Kathrine Priess; brother-in-law, Fritz Daehling; sons-in-law, Dwayne Otte, Leroy Kratochvil; great-granddaughter, Shannon Lee Drake.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, May 16, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 36712 Church Road, Louisville, NE 68037 with Rev. Jon J. Sollberger officiating. There will be no viewing as Theodor requested Anatomical Donation.
Memorials may be designated to the Theodor Priess Family, in care of Norma Sronce, 8142 Beechwood Drive, Lincoln, NE 68510.
