Aurora will be celebrating Santa’s early arrival this week with festivities including lighting of the square and wagon rides. Lighting of the square begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday. It’s a kickoff to the holiday season. Saturday is the main event, when Santa plans to visit businesses in and around downtown Aurora. The day officially begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 7 p.m. His visits are: • 9-10 a.m., Susan’s Books and Gifts. • 10-11 a.m., The Renaissance • 11 a.m.-noon, Heartland Jewelry • Noon-1 p.m., Posh and Precious • 1-2 p.m., Verizon Wireless World • 2-3 p.m., Honeysuckle Lane • 3-4 p.m., Mo-Net’s • 4-5 p.m., Aurora Floral • 5-6 p.m., Feather Your Nest. Santa won’t be the only one making special trips. Glen Jochem will be giving wagon rides from 1 to 5 p.m. A “bus stop” will be set up on the square.
