When steel meets dirt once again for the fast-approaching planting season, it will be a dry dirt.

How will the dry fields impact local ag producers?

Giltner farmer Brandon Hunnicutt and Henderson farmer Curt Friesen shared some thoughts on what they’ll be facing this season.

“It’s always concerning whenever you have dryness,” Hunnicutt said. “It really looks like we had some good moisture back in October. You get down into the deeper levels of the soil and we have good moisture, but the top few inches are pretty dry right now.” To read more, see this week's print or e-editions.
