Former senator dies at 77 PDF E-mail

Former Nebraska State Senator Bob Kremer died Oct. 15 at the age of 77.
A native of Aurora, Kremer grew up on a farm and was active in numerous organizations throughout his lifetime serving agriculture in various ways. He served two terms in the Nebraska Legislature, where he earned a reputation as a respected, caring voice of reason.
“Senator Kremer was an outstanding state senator and a true community leader,” said Gov. Dave Heineman. “He was a strong and effective advocate for agriculture, and he was a good friend. He will be missed and our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Bev, and their family.”
U.S. Sen. Mike Johanns (R-Neb.) remembered Kremer as a lifelong leader in the ag community as well.
“Stephanie and I extend our deepest condolences to Bob’s wife, Beverly, and the rest of the Kremer family,” Johanns said. “I fondly remember working with Bob in the Unicameral when I was governor and will always admire how his faith guided him through his career. I’m grateful for his public service not only as a state senator, but also as a lifelong advocate for Nebraska agriculture. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with the Kremers.”

A complete obituary appears in this week's edition of the News-Register.
