Giltner resident sentenced to jail for animal neglect PDF E-mail

Two pups and an older dog were found in what the Central Nebraska Humane Society called “devastating” conditions in December.
A stiff penalty was doled out for those conditions. On Feb. 26, Eric M. Derr, 28, of Giltner, was charged with abandon/cruelly neglect animal and was sentenced to 40 days of jail and six months of probation. He also had to pay $1,514 in restitution to the humane society.
